This Thanksgiving, we'd particularly like to thank our 10,000 HelpAroundTown users, from those who started with us 13 years ago, to those who signed up this past week.
For 13 years, it's been fantastic to see you step up to help your neighbors.
You have forged bonds that continue to this day. You have built flourishing businesses. You have enabled Seniors to age in their homes, moms to find the help they need in a pinch, dads to afford critical needs.
Students have launched their careers and saved for college, as intended.
Whether you were saving for a car, a vacation, a new roof or for college, HelpAroundTown has made things more affordable for so many.
We enabled you to connect, in a platform designed for your benefit, and you made it flourish.
HelpAroundTown was designed to maximize social impact, not to be a sustainable business. Initially, we thought we'd be able to pivot to a sustainable business. I'm sorry to say we never broke even. So we will be shutting down HelpAroundTown at the end of 2024. -- Unless we're able to find a good home for it.
I'd like to thank the many, many people who stepped up and helped, in so many ways, along the years. You all volunteered your time, too and made the burden easier to carry. Thank you.
And thank you to our developer, Monte Brown, who has been managing the technical aspects of the site for the last few years, while building his own start-up.
We wish you all a very happy Thanksgiving and many things to be thankful for in the years ahead.
Warm regards,
Reem Yared
